Technical Supervisor

Deadline: 03-03-2015

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out trade specific compliance and quality audits on all plumbing and gas engineers including sub-contractors out in the field at various locations across the business whilst keeping the relevant data base up to date. A key part of the role will be around performance management, supervising individuals, and carrying out Health and Safety audits. 

The role will include managing and implementing the training requirements of all plumbing and gas engineers, and to guide, support and assist operatives with fault finding and problem solving. 

This role will also include carrying out gas cap off for our Oldham based void property team up to two days per week when required. 

The role will involving making a variety of decisions – some complex in nature – with concern for impact on others. The successful candidate will also be a key contact point for the clients within the area. 

We are looking for an individual who will operate largely autonomously with managerial guidance. 

A current clean UK driving licence is required as a vehicle will be provided to carry out this role. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure a quality repairs service is provided to our customers.
  • To ensure that both Gas Safe and Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating accreditations are maintained by acting effectively as Technical Supervisor.
  • Support the Technical Managers in ensuring performance, productivity and quality is maintained and assist with audit reports to the Service Managers and Technical Manager (Plumbing & Gas).
  • Undertake inspections of jobs, to ensure quality standards are being maintained and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Undertake site audits and inspections in line with company procedure.

 Skills and Experience:

 Essential:

  • Experience of successfully supervising and motivating teams around work schedules.
  • Experience of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Excellent knowledge of the current ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme).
  • Experience of using maintenance information systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Relevant technical qualifications.

 Desirable:

  • Demonstrate skills in inspection, testing and fault finding.
  • Experience of working with teams to manage process and service delivery.
  • Keep up to date with improvements and innovations within the industry.
