We are looking for a Buyer to join the business to work on specific buying opportunities on multi-million pound contracts and to assist in the implementation of a procurement plan to support the exciting growth plans of the business.

We are looking to operate throughout England in the coming years and need talented people with solid procurement skills to help the business achieve our goals.

It is planned that this new role will drive a reduction in material spend as a function of turnover yielding measurable value for money and supporting the aims and objectives of The Guinness Partnership.

Your main duties will involve developing strategies for each project, including:

Standardising  materials and suppliers
Monitor business levels with preferred key suppliers
Provide monthly supply partner performance reports
Negotiating with and appointing supply partners
Assist in producing tender documentation
Monitor supply partner price movements
Update & maintain internal contract register
Compiling & agreeing commercial terms with key supply partners to enhance service delivery and quality of supply

The key skills required for this role are:

Essential

Previous experience in a Purchasing/Procurement environment.
Experience of managing a portfolio of projects, working to tight deadlines, for a number of different customers.
Knowledge of the AccuServ system (or equivalent procurement IT system)).
Good attention to detail.
Good analytical and persuasive skills.
Positive attitude with a solution orientated approach.
Good oral and written communications
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Desirable

Customer service experience.
Educated to Degree level or relevant equivalent qualification.
Member of CIPS or studying towards CIPS accreditation.
