Technical Supervisor (Electrical)

Up to 6 months fixed term contract

We are looking for a Technical Supervisor to supervise a team of electricians and also be involved with the supervision of other trades.

 The project base for this role is our Oldham office however this post will be site-based in Manchester City centre and will involve full supervision of all site based activities. This role will answer directly to the Electrical Service Manager.

 The individual will oversee/co-ordinate the work of their team and will be required to make a variety of decisions, some complex in nature, with concern for impact on others. A key part of the role will be around performance management, carrying out job chats, appraisals and audits. They will also be the main contact point for the client within the area they cover.

 Key responsibilities:

  • To deliver a responsive and pro-active customer oriented service providing value for money,
  • Supervise reactive maintenance works and ensure the necessary financial controls are exercised and ensure adequate operatives are designated to the contract to ensure service delivery.
  • Undertake audits of work to monitor quality of work and materials including pre and post inspections as required.
  • Ensure that the company’s obligations relating to maintenance are satisfied in connection with all Health and Safety and other statutory regulations are adhered to.
  • Effectively engage with the customer to deliver and improve the maintenance service, dealing effectively with customer complaints and customer feedback.

 Skills/Experience

Essential:

  • Up to date knowledge of building construction, repairs and safety legislation.
  • Up to date knowledge of housing sector, best practice and relevant legislation.
  • Commercial experience with knowledge of LED lighting.
  • Experience of successfully delivering an excellent customer focussed repair service
  • Experience of repairs management information systems
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Ability to manage operational teams.
  • City & Guilds 236 parts 1 & 2. Or City & Guilds NVQ Level 3.

Multi-Trade Technician – Joiner

Deadline: 05-08-2014

Up to 6 Month Fixed Term Contract/Secondment

We are looking for a Multi-Trade Technician – whose primary skill is Joinery – to join our team on an initial fixed term contract for 6 months. The successful individual will operate largely autonomously with minimal managerial guidance, typically oversee/co-ordinate the work of others and may be a knowledge leader or lead a small-medium sized team.

They will also be the main contact point for the client within the area they cover.

 This post will be site-based which will mean travelling to various sites including Doncaster, Rotherham and Wath so ideally the individual will live within this area.

  • Deliver high standard of work relevant to both specific employed trade and other building trades within domestic and commercial premises, including external surroundings.
  • Deliver multi-trade operations in full to a high standard within domestic and commercial premises.
  • Provide accurate daily working information electronically or otherwise relating to operational activities, in accordance with any regulatory and company requirements and procedures for payment claims and other matters as applicable.
  • Be responsible for keeping company vehicle in a clean condition ensuring regular maintenance checks are undertaken and any necessary records and stock are maintained.
  • Ensure all works are carried in line with Company Procedures and Policies, Health and Safety, Control of Hazardous materials, in line with COSHH regulations and PPE.
  • Ensure all plant and equipment is fully functional, appropriately maintained and certificated with defects reported and waste materials disposed of correctly.
  • Be proactive in terms of decision making, working on own initiative throughout project with minimal supervision.

Skills/Experience

Essential:

  • Certificated qualifications in main employed trade.
